Our existing XYZ Proturn lathe proved itself to be a very capable machine - It made perfect sense to invest in a 2nd machine with slightly different capabilities but the same programming language.
Following on from the success we've had with our original XYZ 710 we have purchased another of these versatile machines, but this time with a 4th axis included.
This is our first Mazak CNC Lathe. A very impressive and solid machine with driven (live) tooling. With a 10" chuck and 90mm thru spindle hole, it allows for very versatile machining capabilities. Maximum turning diameter up to 340mm - Maximum component length or approximately 500mm. The live tooling allows the machine to mill, drill [...]
Fully Automatic CNC Bandsaw with a 330mm bar capacity. This replaces an old workhorse we've had for years. We can program this to cut multiple sizes of the same size bar. It's faster and more robust than it's predecessor and much more accurate.
For the past couple of months we have been operating from both the old, and the new factories as we moved our manufacturing facilities across to the new site. Logistically, this has been a challenging time coping with machinery, materials and personnel often being required at both sites! At the end of July we said [...]
The Brother Speedio is a high speed Four-Axis Vertical Machine Centre ideally suited for manufacturing aluminium components due to it's high metal removal rates. It can change tools in 0.6 seconds - which is exceptionally fast (normally 7-10 seconds). The arrival of this machine coincided nicely with our move into the new factory. The Speedio [...]
After years of operating from rented premises, the decision was taken to purchase our own premises. After a long search, suitable premises were found at Mikar Business Park near Lever Street on the south side of the town centre. The new factory will allow us to consolidate our manufacturing operations into a single workshop space. [...]
Merlin Engineering are proud to take delivery of their first Doosan machine. Installed into our factory on Thursday 27th November 2014, and fully operational one week later. This is an all singing all dancing CNC Lathe with a fully automatic 65mm magazine barfeed capacity. With its 8" chuck and 6" sub-spindle the Lynx is a [...]
