Merlin Engineering are proud to take delivery of their first Doosan machine. Installed into our factory on Thursday 27th November 2014, and fully operational one week later.
This is an all singing all dancing CNC Lathe with a fully automatic 65mm magazine barfeed capacity. With its 8″ chuck and 6″ sub-spindle the Lynx is a fast, accurate and highly productive lathe with full milling capability.
The Lynx 220 LSYC is also equipped with an extended bed length and features a programmable sub spindle.
Both the main and sub spindle include full C axis with 0.001 degree control.
This £130,000 investment will give Merlin an advantage where a high degree of automation can be applied to straight forward and complex turned parts. The machine control is designed for relatively simple programming of complicated operations. Many of our existing parts that have either been machined on two machines, or milled as a seperate operation can now be manufactured as one process.
The machine has a maximum turning diameter of 300mm and a maximum working length of 510mm with a 65mm Barfeed capacity.
